If you want to go sans makeup but just don’t have the confidence, here’s a step-by-step way to improve your appearance while preserving the illusion that you’re completely bare-faced!
If you’d like to see this tutorial as a YouTube video, let me know in the comments! If I get five comments I’ll film a tutorial and post it to YouTube.
What you’ll need:
- Concealer that matches your skin perfectly
- Setting powder or banana powder
- Lip balm (tinted lip balm, if you prefer)
- A neutral shade of eyeshadow
- Setting spray
Step 1: Start with a clean, moisturized face. I use Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture for Combination Skin.
Step 2: Use a concealer brush to apply your concealer to any problem areas and to your under-eye area. I use Boi-ing by Benefit. Be sure to use a beauty blender to blend in concealer if you feel that your brush doesn’t do enough.
Step 3: Once you feel like your imperfections have been sufficiently camouflaged, sweep a setting powder or banana powder (I use Banana Setting Powder by Bellapierre) around your face to keep the concealer in place.
Step 4: Spritz on some setting spray to ensure your concealer doesn’t disappear throughout the day. I use Nyx’s Matte Finish Setting Spray.
Step 5: Brush through your eyebrows with a spoolie to keep them in line.
Step 6: Lightly dust a natural-looking blush onto the apples of your cheeks to give your face some life. My favorite is Desert Rose Mineral Blush by Bellapierre.
Step 7: Define your eyes by smoothing a neutral color into your crease. I use the shade Naked from the Naked palette. This gives dimension without making you look like you’re wearing makeup.
Step 8: Apply one coat of mascara to top and bottom lashes. I like to use Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Mascara because it darkens eyelashes without getting clumpy or unnatural. This opens up your eyes and makes you look more awake.
Step 9: Apply lip balm to soothe chapped lips and enhance your pout. I use the original Chapstick.
Voila! No makeup makeup in just a few simple steps!
